I needed a new vmware image larger than my old 2Go vmdk. After searching a bit, I found a solution with qemu, but the guide wasn’t very clear and the vmware image creation was done with a mystical command that I didn’t want try to understand.
So I downloaded VMware workstation 6.5.1. After registering, vmware sent me an email with an activation link to obtain my evaluation license (free 30 days trial).

DBdesigner is a tool to design models and database graphically with a nice feature that can draw the database schema from an existing database (reverse engineering.
There is no deb and the install may be a bit tricky due to depndencies to old libs and missing links.

Here’s a new howto explaining the steps to compile, install and enable the gnome-globalmenu-0.6 on your desktop.
This has been tested on Ubuntu intrepid ibex but it should work on hardy too. It should also work with other distributions, except for the first step.
Globalmenu works with “real” gtk applications. That means globalmenu will not work with firefox and openoffice.
Another note : globalmenu doesn’t require anymore to patch libgtk, good news ![]()
